Join me for this 3-week exploration for connecting to ALL change as sacred.
[Please note: Although loss can certainly be part of most life changes, this will not be an exploration of grief/death. I will be offering, Let It All Out, my course on grief & mourning again next year.]
The only lasting truth
is Change.
God
is Change.
― Octavia E. Butler Life changes through life-changes: big moves, tiny steps, starting relationships, ending partnerships, welcoming children, emptying the nest... new projects, new careers, new ventures, retirment, peri/menopause, sexual awakenings, new stages, new phases... fomenting transformation, inciting revolution!
Life is a continuous cycle of change. And change is both happening and needed in our world now more than ever.
Whether the change you are currently experiencing is something you "voluntarily" long to in or something with which you are "involuntarily" contending, whether you are focused on personal or collective change — can you relate to change as sacred? Can you welcome it? Can you co-create with it?
Do you believe
God is change?
In this course, we will spend 3 weeks exploring change through intention, ritual & ceremony in ways that are conscious, creative & cosmic.
"
Simply by virtue of being a human being, one is an authority on creating ritual." — Malidoma Patrice SoméEverything can be remembered as sacred through
intention. We will spend the first week investigating the power of intention, identifying the specific change we'd like to address and crafting our unique intentions for a sacred relationship to this change. Whether unbidden or called-in, we will engage this change soulfully, with care, reverence, and faith.
The second week, we will explore rituals both as the regular habits, practices, and routines of minute changes and as the special reminders we use to consecrate life changes. We will each explore ancestral ritual practices and craft a unique ritual for the change we've identified trusting the power of life beyond the rational.
Ceremonies are special moments we create to acknowledge, celebrate, or consecrate. The final session will include a synchronous ceremony where we each engage our change ritual (off camera and muted) and share in the power of experiencing sacred change in community.
This exploration invites you into an enchanted space of co-creation that assumes things the overculture does not teach, including that:
- humans have always harnessed symbols, imagination and creativity for change
- we all come from ancestral traditions that engaged intention, ritual and ceremony as central aspects of life-changes
- we are all embedded within a cosmic paradox of interconnectedness that is potent & magical
- tiny movements can have profound impacts
All sessions will be recorded. The recording as well as a list of resources and links will be made available to all who register. I will be offering daily support by email throughout the three weeks.
"All has been consecrated. The creatures in the forest know this, the earth does, the seas do, the clouds know, as does the heart full of love. Strange! A priest would rob us of this knowledge and then empower himself with the ability to make holy what already was." — 14th century mystic, St. Catherine of Siena
